Their music is created by emotions and portrays images of memories. The band can often lose themselves in their music, pulling others into that moment with them.
This has been mentioned in live-reviews as well;
“… convincing performance, from beginning to end it captured and even moved the listener.” (GUN magazine, March 2005)
“… although it had only been their fourth performance, … the band around Bo Menning knew how to blow away many people in the audience emotionally by giving a intense and at times even blood-curdling performance.” (3voor12 magazine, March 2005)
Aestrid aims to portray a push and pull of feelings. To show something honest and earnest, no matter how grim though real the lyrics may be.
The album has been well received by local and national press;
“… in ‘d’esprit pornographique’ can easily be said to be Utrechts best guitar-release of the year up to now … their intensity is sincere and credible.”(GUN-magazine March 2005)
“An album that also goes deep, deep, very deep. Letting the emotions of singer Bo Menning touch your inner core. And anyone who has recently seen the band perform live at 3VOOR12/Utrecht-festival in ‘Tivoli de Helling’, knows that this is no different on stage.” (3VOOR12 magazine March 2005 )
